Flow Map

Flow Maps show movement or disbursement of a specified item from one area to another. Usually, the line varies in width to show the amount of movement or disbursement. These maps are useful for showing trade routes and migration patterns.


The map shown is a Flow Map of Slave Trade routes and amount of Slaves transferred. The greater the number of slaves taken from Africa the thicker the arrow; the fewer the number of slave taken from Africa the thinner the arrow.
