Propaganda Map

Propaganda Maps are used to promote a specific point of view. They are used as persuasive tools to help sway people’s opinions. Political Propaganda Maps are by far the most used and well known forms.

The map shown is a Propaganda Map of “A Texan’s Map of the United States.” This map is a representation of a Texan’s perception of the U.S. Florida is “Swamp Land” and New England is “’Damned Yankee’ Land.” Whether or not all Texans have this perception is irrelevant, because this map is not supposed to be rational. I actually bought a  magnet with this map on it when I was in Texas.
